What are you guys with pyros seeing for EGTs? Im curious if my gauge aint reading right, or if i need to relocate the probe. I put it immediately after the manifold.....

That is a very hard to answer question.

A run up the interstate at 70 MPH goes somewhere between 300 and 1200.

300 on the down hill side, 700 to 1200 on the uphill side.

Mine is in the exhaust manifold sticking in the #8 exhaust port.

I gotta drive a couple hundred miles to get to flat ground.

The only place flat in WV was man made.
They won't let me drive on the runway at the airport.

Subscribing, I will be installing my gauges soon too and this is something very important, now I'm not sure if this would apply for this 7.3l engine but in 6.0 land if it was in 1400 for a few seconds thats not good at all basically 1400 was the bottem line I was seeing around 900 in average what temperatures am I looking for in this engine?

I get any were from about 300-900 running down the highway at 60 mph. It is all rolling hills here with some pertty steep ones at times. On those i can hit 1200 ( like when running up what we call "the cut in the hill" on south bound I75 coming into Kentucky out of Ohio).

Cruising around town I run about 400, 600-800 cruising at 55 or faster. With the probe after the manifold I wouldn't let it go higher than 1100 for more than a couple seconds.

yea i havent seen 4 digits yet. Havent really had her under a good load yet either since i put the pyro in. She gets up to about 250 and usually hangs out right there.

That doesn't sound right to me at all, the only time my egt's are that low is during extended idling. Is your probe and guage matched to each other? Are they new or used? Are you sure it's hooked up right? My guage, the power wire comes loose once in a while and the guage needle will fall to a default position.

for me, idle 200... highway speed (55-70) im at 600-800.... climbing i could be 2000 if i didnt get outta the throttle lol. i keep it at 1100-1200 when im climbing. but i only get that hot when ive got a trailer behind me. ive got my probe out of my #4 cyl. like center of the manifold so i can get exact egt as it escapes the engine.
