Clunking (?) noise when turning

Hi,

I have a 2004 F150 Lariat (2WD). When I turn a corner (either direction) I am beginning to hear a clunking (popping?) noise coming from somewhere in the front end. It's not very loud, but it's clearly there. I can't duplicate the noise with the truck jacked up so I'm having trouble diagnosing this one. Any thoughts or ideas?

Sounds like it could be sway bar links. Do a search for "sway bar links" There are several threads - maybe one can help you out. If you confirm that your end links are bad, I highly recommend replacing with Moogs.

I have the same issue. When in 4WD a slow turn to either side causing a clunking sound and a lot of shaking in the steering wheel. Have changed sway bar links and replaced the hubs...also the drag link...still continues. Goes away if in 2WD

I had the same thing with my truck and it was like sako said, the sway bar links were worn out. I had them changed and never heard the noise again.
