Brake line To caliper Torque???

I just replaced the front left caliper and put the line back on and tightened it down, but it is leaking. It feels like I got it pretty tight, I just dont want to strip anything out. Just wondering if anyone knew the torque spec for that flow bolt.
thanks

According to the manual, it's 26 ft-lbs for the front calipers. Are both copper washers one on each side of the banjo fitting?

Yes the caliper came with two new copper washers. Thanks for the info I will go double check the torque but I bet I have more than that on it now. I went a little tighter and it does not seem to be leaking now so hopefully I got it.
I filled the caliper before putting the line back on and I feels like I might not even have to bleed it, but probably will just to make sure.

thanks again
Joe

Did the brake line banjo bolt for your caliper stop leaking after all?

Hey Joe, did your banjo bolt for your brake caliper stop leaking after you tighten it? did it hold up?

I replaced my caliper as well and the brake line started to leak from the fitting. I didn't want to over torque it cus I over torqued the sealing crush washers for the other brake line and had to replace them.
At a first glance, I came to the conclusion that it might be a manufacturing defect cus the brake line fitting doesn't seem to sit flush on the caliper (the bottom corner of the fitting is a tiny bit pushed up more so than the other 3 corners) and that's where it seems to be leaking from.
Anyways, I would like to know if tightening down to 26 foot pounds fixed the problem long term for you?
and did you have to bleed the brakes after taking the hose fitting off since there was already fluid without air in the master cylinder?
Thanks.

13 year old thread, but my advice is to snug the bolt, tap the head with a hammer a couple times, then re-tighten the bolt. I usually do this twice, or until the bolt will not turn anymore.
