have to mash down clutch to shift

I have a 94 idi turbo when i go to shift i can go up in all my forward gears with no problem as long as i mash the clutch as hard as i can to the floor to keep it from grinding. Now when i try to go into reverse it grinds and if i pump cluch a few times and mash it to floor i sometimes can get it into reverse its almost easier to shut truck off and start it in reverse. when i go to shift down threw gears it grinds unless i hold cluch to floor for several seconds any ideas

I had the exact same problem with my stroker. Near impossible to get in first or reverse while stopped, would grind gears when shifting, had to about mash the pedal thru the floor to get the lockout switch to operate so it would start. Got to the point I hated the 5 speed. My problem was the plastic bushing where the clutch arm hooks to the eye in the rod that goes into the clutch cylinder. I fixed it with one of these and HOLY COW!! It shifts so sweet now and don't even have to push it all the way to the floor to start it. It really don't take much slop to mess these things up.

Here is what I used and I won't ever have that problem again. FORD Clutch Rod End PERMANENT Repair powerstroke too. : eBay Motors (item 250632700612 end time May-23-10 18:17:32 PDT)

I do believe that bushing can be purchased at schucks/O'reilly's for less than the $10 the dealership charges. I discovered this after I got mine at the dealership. It is on the sales floor in the HELP! section.

I found the plastic bushing at auto zone but when i put it on it didnt hold up to the pressure of the pedal and disinigrated with in 2 pushes. I am going to go with the ebay kit. I have a temporary steel bushing in place currently.
