I did a search and came up with nothing so I am asking this question:
I have a 2004 F-150 5.4 2wd extended cab flare side with about 60,XXX miles on it.
For the last 5k miles it has sputtered when I mash the gas and I have been taking it to shops trying to get it resolved. Finally someone changed the fuel filter which was full of sludge and its 90% better. Today along with an oil change a mechanic noticed that my engine mounts are broken. And that ford has a TSB out about this issue. He said it would be around $500.00 to do and take about a full days labor.
I haven't pursued this issue yet, but I am wondering if my extended warranty I purchased when I bought the truck will cover this. My paperwork seems pretty vague on what exactly is covered in the "extended powertrain warranty"
I have read through the TSB's and cannot find one regarding broken motor mounts. However I have read in several places on the internet people having broken motor mounts and saying there's a TSB. Does anyone know about the TSB or where to find it?
Keep in mind that just because there might be a TSB on an item does not necessarily mean there is any warranty coverage on the item. It is merely a service aid for techs. Case in point, there are several TSB's on 5.4L 3 valve spark plug issues. There is no warranty coverage on spark plugs on these engines.
