if i remember right that quote you had there was from a pretty interesting thread on pirate. Link? Anyways yes the attraction to propane is it isnt effected by angles and rough offroadin but you do have a powerloss its better to just run a cheap injection system if thats what you want.
Yes was Pirate...

But a good carb will to everything the "average" wheeler will need off road... My rig usually looses traction before the motor wont run anymore with a carb... I have yet to wheel the Predator yet tho, but have high hopes on that one..

Ummm, cut rotors is a racing thing you have no clue about. Yeah I could have bought some bling daddy aluminum single rotors, but why spend the extra money. Do you know how difficult it is to find front 4x4 racing rotors that are a 5x5.5 lug pattern? Not easy or cheap.
As for the ram bracket, do you have a better way to bolt on a mount to the axle without making it weld directly to the thin diff cover? Doubt it.

Dana doesn't have a very thin cover to start with, and I'm sure its easy to make a stronger on(did it for my sterling). I have my hydro cylinder bracket welded to my stock D60 cover. But, that's not as stressful as full assist. And really!? Did ur "custom" rotors lighten up the front that much? You added 4 times the weight savings with that hydro setup.

The rotors dropped rotational weight which affects the truck in a totally different way than static weight. Less rotating mass allows the tires to spin much easier. If the goal was to drop static weight in that area I would have gone small block. And to be honest, the ram and box tube don't weigh any more than a stock steering setup with the box and linkages.

I got my saginaw steering pump bolted up today. I couldn't find a bracket in the junk yards I liked so I modified the original. It turned out great.
I also started making gussets for the front spring bushing mounts. **** canned the first set because they looked like something that damn yankee, paul would have rigged up.

I am running all aluminum wheels on all 4 sets of tires. 2 sets are DOT and 1 set of cuts. I run a 35x10.5f/35x14.5r set, a 38.5x11f/39.5.18r set and will be putting in the cut 38.5x11f/39.5x18r set this weekend with the NOS! The skinny35's and sluinum rims wegh much less than the wide 35 and aluminum wheels. So much so that with the mixed gear set and a good launch and I can carry the front tires most of the way through the 200' pit! I just got the uncut 39.5's, but even on the skinny 38's all the way around it transfered weight and lifted the front up!

I think it may have been from a recent thread I started on the topic on NWU, though a lot of the information from that thread came from another thread on pirate where Seth basically called out a guy that was selling kits and claiming no power loss, though rather tactfully for Seth and/or pirate.

thanks yes there is real good information in those threads
I remember a guy some years ago that entered the most modified F250 Id ever seen in top truck chanllege I want to say is name was jeff gotz? Anyways he had stated it had 600 horse 460 but right before the contest he switched over to propane. It was super clear in the video he wasnt runnin anything near 600 horse so I always wondered how much was just horsepower lost from converting to propane. Anyways this is a great thread with great info since propane always seems to be a hot topic for swappin into wheelers.

Ive seen them do it other ways on pirate but they also have thick diff covers just for this. But i confess it seems like it would interfere with the drag link if it was on the diff cover at least thats the way it looks to me.
