On that note, if someone has a failed black CPS or one they don't want please send it to me... I want to do a comparison between black and gray underneath the plastic.
There's also the phantom codes that some trucks have with the grey CPS.

It's a sticky right at the top of this forum. LINK

I'm rollin an OBS now remember? #3 and #8 passed CCT just fine. FYI, you can't read CCT #'s on an OBS, only supported on the SD. All I know is I swapped in a used black CPS and my P1240 and P1242 went away. The gray CPS is going to get chopped in half soon.

Not directed at you Chase, but the other posters.

But just the same I did not know this about the OBS PCMs. I did know that our e99s PCMs could not run a rotational velocity test.

Never had a doubt about this. And it's most welcome. You've got to much experience and knowledge about the SD not to continue sharing it with us SD guys.

I don't have squat for knowledge/experience compared to most in here, my SD was too trouble-free

So far so good with the new truck. Installed new glow plugs on Friday, need to get it cleaned up more inside yet. I don't know what this "garage" you speak of is We don't have any enclosed parking at our place. I'd probably need 30' to get it inside and be able to shut the door I'm guessing.

my early 99 runs the RV test.

you can get this CPS at IH they have had them for a couple of month now.. just reading a few threads that the new cps is not failing anything and truck runs good..i also read the IH and the Ford CPS are one in the same sensor...

just installed the dark blue/black cps. ordered from mike at tousey ford...22 bucks shipped. anyway, didnt get a chance to fully drive it but it started up easier than it has ever done. i had mine changed when i bought it at the dealer under recall, not knowing about all the problems. i was getting 17 plus mpgs with the original, and am down to mid 15's with the grey one. ill post back any insight about the dark blue one. didnt have any problems to say, but have nothing to compare it to.
