01 excursion has the California emissions on it. I have disconnected and removed the intake heater. Are these two things dependent on each other? The ses has been on with codes for speed sensor glow plug cylinder one and aih. I Just checked glow plug ohms and they are in range 1-1.3 range. This morning only chug with stater spinning engine and whitish smoke. Any suggestions. Thanks.

No, they aren't related and one won't stop the other from working. Sounds like maybe your GPCM isn't always working. What codes are you getting?

 

There are four that come up with one of them glow plug cylinder one. I ohmed it and checked good. It started OK for me with no smoke. I did unplug and reconnect both plugs at the gpcm and the plug on the driver side valve cover. Before starting it. I didn't do passenger side because the intercooler pipe needs to come off to give me access. The gpcm is a new one I bought from you early last winter. Voltage to the driver side is high 11 range.
