99 5.4 won't start it clicks so it's getting power but won't crank. Put new starter on from napa but the same thing happens. Any clue?

 

Weak battery, dirty connections, battery cable(s) corroded, starter relay on firewall...................

Not always but most of the time from what I've seen, one click per turn of the key starter relay, multiple clicks per turn of the key insufficient voltage to the starter.

 

tried diff battery thats not it. the terminals were bad hit them with a wire brush but they are still pretty green. Going to try cleaning them alittle more.

 

Starter relay looks good. Is their anything else it could be like a crank sensor or anything like that?

 

Did you check the other end of the cables???

 

yep that was it. The end of the cable that goes on the starter was the culprit. Thanks guys.

 

Good news. I had the same problem on a golf cart.
