Need Help with codes and what I need to do
Hey all, well just received my code reader and now need help determining what I need to do with them.
Ok I have a 1993 f150 EFI 5.0 302 4x4 with 206000 miles on...I know but she is still running..
So during KOEO I get a 111 on self test, thats good, now on CM I get a 332 code "Insufficient EGR flow.
Now During KOER I get a 172 HEGO / HO2S Sensor fault/lean and I still get 332
Ok can someone break this down for me cause money is tight I need to do this on my own.
Thanks for any help in advance

332 EGR valve opening not detected.
No biggie but should be addressed, will not make the engine run bad.
172 HEGO sensor circuit indicates system lean (right side)
This one is a problem and could be a couple things causing it.
Could be just the O2 sensor just doesn't work right, if its old as in several thousand miles on it, and it probalby has over 100k on it yea it should be replaced.
It could also be a vac leak, sure sign of a bad vac leak is a high idle speed. Smaller leak may not cause a noticeable change.
How about the fuel filter? been replaced recently? Might be time for a new one.
Is it truly running lean? pull a plug or several and look them over good. Insulator white maybe blistered a tad? then yea its kinda lean, correct heat range plug for the truck? Check that too.
Insulator light brown tan or gray in color? then no its probably not lean unless it just started and the plugs haven't been overly effected yet.

Well with the egr not opening detected start with it, a vac leak is one of the causes for that very issue.
O2 sensor is in the exhaust pipe.
Don't just start replacing parts right off the bat though, work through the problem starting with the simple stuff first.
Vac leaks are very common, that little plastic tubing gets hard and brittle and cracks and or simply snaps very easy after so many years living under the hood.
Look at the plugs too.
