EBV - Working or Not??
Just installed my exhaust, guages, and SCMT a couple of days ago..the morning after all this work, for the first time, I could actually tell that the EBV was closed when I started out to work (hissing sound, not as much boost, EGT's higher)..same thing pretty much all that day and next every time I started it when it was cold . Did the Pre-Pump mod the following day, cranked it up, and man that thing was hissing..sounded like a snake was in my tailpipe until it warmed up . The next morning, about same temp, no hiss, nothing. Haven't heard it since . I am almost positive that I never heard it close before I did the mods and now it isn't doing it again. Is there an easy way to check? I bought the truck with 79,000 on it and now it has almost 82,000 so I haven't had it that long. Sounds stupid, but this is botherin me . Any help would be appreciated.
