Evening/Night guys...day started really great...was able to get a lot done on the truck, but not what I set out to do! Was going to drop the transmission pan and swap the linkage around due to not being able to shift the transmission from inside the cab (thread in the Transmission Forum)...ended up replacing solenoid, battery cables, "electrical box" (can't remember the name for it), cleaned up all the wiring in the engine compartment. Jumped in to move the truck into the carport/garage to work on the trans pan in the shade, can not get the transmission to engage (move while in gear)...Frustrating!!! But the day ended really good, enjoyed a night with the wife at Waffle House! Waffle and Hash-browns ALL THE WAY! Looking forward to tomorrow! Have a great night!
Morning Pat, very frustrating, the whole transmission issue, went out this morning with prayers it would have fixed itself, had very high hope especially when I started it up, and put it into gear, and it "jumped" forward about an inch. Is it possible that there may be air in the lines? I am just trying to figure something out...UGH!
I'm not very mechanically inclined and the internals of the transmissions are greek to me! The closest I ever came to figuring out why it was difficult to shift was when the bolts under the steering column came loose!

It could affect it, and that might mean your tranny fluid is low, which would be an easy fix. Like Steve, I don't know a whole lot about auto trannys, just mainly manuals.
They do...I have a new gasket and filter to change out, was planning on doing that when I swapped the linkage around...guess I could go ahead with the swap and change the filter. And sorry for the thread High Jack...just really want my truck back on the road!
