Nah, you can fit them in there. Lots of folks on here have done them. It takes some fabbing, but basically the driver's side header feeds over to the pass. side, then it's your choice of true duals down the pass. side, or y it into a larger single. Add cat and muffler as needed.

Just put a shift kit in it... every automatic should get one. And here are some shots of the exhaust I built for my truck with longtubes, the front end is all mendrel bent 2.5" tubing and the catback is 3".

Throw an LS3 E-Rod crate engine in it. 494/440 hp/tq STOCK AND it's emissions friendly! Mate it to a 6L80E. Puttin an LS* in my truck when the engine dies.

ditch the 302. although you can make alot of horsepower you will never get the torque out of it for a truck. go find a 351w out of alightning. that is the only way to find a 351w that is a roller motor. That way you can put your 5.0 roller cams (i.e. comp cams extreme energy 274 which are awesome in 351w) you will gain hella torque but not have to do a bunch of engine bay modifications. i have a 91 with a speed density 302 and i am fixing to swap over to a carbed 351w roller.
