ZF swap question
I am going to be putting a ZF in my 97 f150 with a built 5.4 in it. I was curious as to if the zf behind the superduty 5.4 is the only one that will bolt up or if any other one will and what years will work. Any other ideas that will help with the swap is appreciated as well. Thank you.

From what I've read on the ZF website, it looks like the 5.4 and 6.8 V10 use the same transmission, but I do not have first hand experience to know for sure. It will be an S5-47M. There may be a six speed that fits too...

Yes, the modular engines (5.4 & 6.8) have their own version of the ZF. Thats the "M" in S5-47M as Eric pointed out. They are rare to find used though I know of a professionally rebuilt one here in the Seattle area for sale if you are searchng.
