F250 wheel/stud failure
Going across the country in my f250 4x4 and at 70mph 30 miles east of St. Louis I had a left rear rim and tire with no warning fly off the truck. I am running the Ford alum excurison rims and the proper lug nuts. It sheared all 8 studs ruined the rotor and dust sheild, rim. Nobody got hurt and I had a friend that races, drive 2 hours and pick me up load the truck into his hauler and take it to his race shop for repair. I got it all back together and I have driven the truck home around 500 miles with not issues. But I am unsure if I have the bearing preload set right, the truck seems fine and the hub is cool to the touch as a matter of fact the other side which is factory is a little warm after driving. What does everybody think. By the way make sure you torque your lugs nut and check every 2000 miles.
