I have the Pioneer 6X8 in my truck. It did look like you could run 6X9 with some cutting though.

I wasn't sure about the mounting depth of the 6x9. I started thinking to have the 6x9's in the rear doors since I found some 6x8 plates that will mount 6.5"s I could use up front.

Yea, the depth may be a issue. Do you have speakers in the rear doors? Mine are behind the rear seat.

I was thinking of adding the 6x9s to the doors. Just cut them out and have fun. OEM's are in behind the rear seat in mine as well.

You can run 6x9's in the doors with not much cutting. Plenty of room depth wise.

I agree with the dept thing. But you do realize a good high quality set of 6x8s will do the same thing and u aint gonna be moding up your vehicle.

Also 6x8's have slightly better mid range bass.

I would go with a good set of 6.5" speakers. Round speakers more accurately reproduce audio and are less prone to cone distortion.

I am in the process of replacing my stock rear speakers with a pair of Infinity 6x9s, in my 2005 CC. I had to make the hole bigger (obviously), but other than that they fit pretty easy. The space is a little tight back there, but these speakers aren't overly huge. Infinity Reference 9632cf If they were much bigger though (i.e. the magnet), I don't know if they would have fit. The space that the speaker sits in narrows quite a bit, to make room for the door latch and such. I'll try to post some pics after I finish installing them, just waiting on the wiring adapter.

I got the speakers finished up and everything is back together again. Here are some pics of what I had to do to make them fit. I hope this helps someone out.
