The 36s are bias ply, and are GREAT off road. 3rd in line after boggers and hawgs, IMO. They suck on road though, expecially if it gets cold out. They flat spot bad, and it takes forever for the spots to round out after you start driving.
My truck on the 36"s:

The 37s are radial ply, and SUCK off road. But they handle GREAT on road. They have a stiffer sidewall, thereby reducing sidewall flex greatly, those 37s had less sidewall flex than the 33" BFGs that are currently on my 1/2 ton. They were pretty quiet going down the road, and handled surprisingly well in slick situations. Plan on getting stuck right away as soon as you get in mud deeper than about 4" they just dont have the digging power like they should. They just sit and spin

My truck on the 37s:
(And I bought these brand spankin new, still had the stickers on em)

I put the pics of my truck up so anyone whos still confused about the tread design can compare the 2 and see just how different they are.

IMO if your truck is gonna stay on road most of the time I would HIGHLY recommend the 37" military tires to you. On road, they are a great tire.

THANK YEW, going to buy them this weekend, I already have a set of 16.5's, If hate them, I will just sell them.

I have had a limited amt of exposure to mud tires, but heres what I would say.
-The 36s are better than any name brand "MT" tire. Period.
-That leaves the super swamper brand and hawgs in my book.
-Ive got a set of 38" TSLs, and I believe that if they were the same size as the military 36s, the militarys would go farther.
-we all know how thornbirds fare off road, and I have not had any exposure to the irok or ltb or any of the other tires in the swamper line. So yeah, this is with my exposures so far

Pic of retreading 36's

Here is a good way to make those 36x12.50x16.5 a little better off road. Not my tire or my truck in the first pic.

36's are cheap where I am from, so I run them, who cares about bias ply's, in the mud.
