As long as you don't connect the PTO_RELAY (PTO IND) wire, I don't think anything related to PTO will run (I don't have the PTO option though).
Applying voltage to PTO_REQUEST1 just enables the computer to prepare for certain conditions, if those conditions are met.
I connected PTO_REQUEST1 to AUX4 on the upfitter.
Then used the 12,000 ohm resistor between PTO_REF and PTO_RPM.
Someone who has a little more experience with this is welcomed to correct me.
