What unburned fuel?
Modern engines burn like 99% + of the fuel, so how are you going to burn a fraction of a percent without any added weight or drag or losses?

400w of power draw is worth about 1 MPG.
Alternators aren't that effecient.

I think there are a few things that can make diesel burn cleaner; HHO and propane at least... but I don't know if the small gain is worth the added cost and complexity and hassle.

I'll tell you where theres room for innovation; steam co-power.
Out of all the fuel the engine burns, maybe 40% is turned into mechanical energy.
If someone could harness the heat from the cooling system and exhuast, and drive a steam engine, that would be cool.

I would say burning 100% of the fuel isn't what i took away from the abstract, but burning more of the fuel in the first phase of combustion vs. the exhaust phase.
It would seem the power stroke would provide more power that way.
Claiming what that does vs controlled testing to demonstrate what it can do in OUR engines is why there is little excitement..

A lot of marketing hype has folks spending on cold air intakes, air intake vortex producing plates, mpg tunes, etc. If i drive like my dad did, i could get 2+ better mpg, but that isn't much fun, but it is free.

I bet lowering kits would be good for a few MPG.

No fun there haha.

if the gas production was enough to make a difference, in mpg's the engine would Run away when you turned it on. as it will if you add propane, and would need some type of regulation, to control engine speed, this was debunked long ago.

The HHO Generators use PWM for on-demand use, which is why run away idle is not really a thing.

Weird the sort of things you find trying to find out about EGR eliminators...
