master cylinder bore size

anyone have a link with info on master cylinder bore size? im having issues with my new master cylinder. i know you can changed bore size and change the pressure required to stop. i've got 4 wheel drum brake. but im running 35's and dont care for the amount of effort to stop. i've got 100% new brake system. new everything and i mean everything. i just dont like the way the truck stops. i use to have the info on this but now i cant find it.

You could upgrade to a later f350 dual diaphragm booster & the bigger bore master cylinder that goes with it.

Having all 4 drum brakes will take some more effort to stop compared to disc brakes especially with running larger tires.

my old master cylinder stopped better than my new one but it blew out on me. im guessing someone changed it back in the day and i have no idea what they used but it was night and day differance. i am thinking of a 79 f350 2wd master cylinder. i'd love to run the bigger booster too, but as of right now my cab mounts are shot and the bigger booster wont clear my cobra valve covers. so that will have to wait till the new cab is on.

The F350 dual diaphragm booster is much smaller in diameter than the F250 single diaphragm booster. It didn't make a huge difference in my truck but it did improve braking some. I don't know how much bigger the bore is in the master but it is somewhat bigger

huh, thats interesting to know....i changed my booster a bit though. i've got the 77 bracket and used the 73 booster. it took some real work with the push rod off of the booster. i made it work...lol so will the f350 booster work with the 77 bracket? its the bracket that moves the booster up a couple inches.

Does your rod go straight through or does it have the linkage in between ?

it now has the linkage...it didnt to start with but my truck was not built with power brakes. someone added it and used god only knows what booster and it had the adjustable rod. the booster i bought didnt have the adjustable rod. so i made my booster work with the linkage style bracket.

'78-'79 uses a rod, I don' know about the earlier ones. I had to tweek my brackets a little but it was a bolt in from there. There are a few different pedal designs.
