Upcoming Events

I'm posting this thread for us to share upcoming events. For instance, the Diesel show in Kearney in January. Post up car shows, truck pulls, anything vehicle related that we'd like to share with the chapter.

Thanks!

I try to attend the big swap meet in Lincoln in March. I think it is the 2nd sunday. I've made it every year for the last 8-9 years except last year. I had the flu. I have friends in Lincoln and usually go with them.

March 9th, 2008, 35th Annual Rocky Manginelli Memorial Swap Meet. State Fair Grounds, Lincoln, NE. Cash or food donation to attend. Check Hemmings for more information.

This is a great swap meet and you will want to come early(7:00 am) if you are buying. It is usually mostly over by early afternoon. A lot of folks start packing up to leave around 2:00 pm depending on the weather which is usually crappy.

I don't know what vender spaces cost, but I think it is about $20 for an outside spot. This is a great place to look for all kinds of car and truck parts and is just a heck of a lot of fun. I don't have anything to do with this swap meet other than I have attended most years.

I'm wondering how tough it would be to get a hotel room that weekend?

Pat - If your thinking about comming you better get one soon. The hotels fill up pretty quickly in Kearney on that weekend. Its a lot of fun - there will be a Classic & Collectible Car Auction, Drag Racing at the Race Strip, Many different Show and Shines and of course the cruiseing on Saturday evening.

I would love to go! I have to figure out a way to twist it into something that my wife would want to go to!!!!LOL! I'd like to bring out either the 68 Mustang, or if I really get moitivated and get it running, the 39 Ford coupe.

Pat - Kearney has a lot to offer - Nebraska Art Museum, Shopping, the Archway, Good Restaurants, and many are within walking distance. Lexington - 35 miles to the west has a huge amount of Antique stores. There is always a lot to do on that weekend!

March 28, 29,30th, The World of Wheels car show is going to be at the Qwest center in Omaha. I might try and go either friday or saturday. I know none of you will be there on sunday, since you'll be at the chapter meet......

I hope so anyway!!

Hot Rods, muscle cars, the whole bit. It's usually a pretty big show. I've never been to it since it moved to the qwest, but I'm sure it's just as good!
