Engine swap question
Hey guys, i have a 1988 F-150 4x4 with at fuel injected 302 and automatic. I have an opportunity to buy a 1996 E-350 with a fuel injected 460 and automatic. I want to to take the entire engine, trans, wiring harness out of the E-350 and put it in my F-150. Will this work? I realize i'll probably have to buy new motor mounts and I'm pretty sure my transfercase will bolt up to the back of the trans, but what all is involved with this? and is it even possible? Thanks for any replies

unless you plan on swapping the EEC as well it wont work. your 88 is a speed density engine. The 1996 E350 you are buying if fuel injected is probably a mass air motor. if you swap the EEC from the van to your truck then yes it should work. my suggestion is 460 the truck but pull the injection, thats what i did on a 91 5.0
