So today I was out wheeling and my upper right rear shock mount broke. I was wondering, would you guys recommend buying a new factory shock mount, they are only $18 bucks on lmc, or could you guys recommend a stronger pre fabricated mount? I'd like to fabricate some myself but recently started working 7 days a week, 70 hours plus and a great deal of free time.

 

looks more like rust through, not breakage, and the bfg at's only add to that assumption.:flipoff: and shocks are overrated in my opinion

 

I agree with Dan, that truck looks like it has quite a bit of rust...

And yes, shocks are overrated. A solid bar of steel should do the trick better then any shock.

it will litterally take 20 min with some 3x3 -1/4" angle and a 1/2" drill bit.

 

He works 70 hours a week. He can take ten minutes to post that but not to make the mount. :P
