Rattle pads for AUX spring.
Being a attempted NumberDummy I ran to my hippo catalog and did some research. I got C4TZ-5783-A as a P/N. I ran it through partsvoice and got a hit.
Can someone confirm if this is the part I need?
Being a attempted NumberDummy I ran to my hippo (It's hipo! There's only one hippo (AFAIK) typing in this forum
) catalog and did some research. I got C4TZ-5783-A as a P/N. I ran it through partsvoice and got a hit.Can someone confirm if this is the part I need?
If my 65 year old eyes are reading it correctly, it says: BUMPER, REAR AXLE.
C4TZ5783A - Used in helper spring bracket and front spring bumper.
This is a rebound type bumper. It's not a waxed spring pad or a neoprene spring liner that can be inserted between the leaves to keep them from rubbing against each other, which...causes squeeks.
You can buy the pads/liners at any autoparts store.
I think this is what you want: Go to TEXT, section 55, page 53: B8A5586A / Green Sales has 20. Soeby & Bowman have none.
btw: The next time you ask..."Can anyone confirm?" I'm going to let another anyone answer. That is...if anyone is able to.
How many members in this forum have the parts catalog? Six or seven, AFAIK. How many members of FTE have any Ford parts experience? Two, AFAIK.
I am refering to the rubbers that sit in bracket #5700 that stop the rattling sound caused by the overloads hitting their stop. I never knew of anything that sat between spring leaves to stop squeaking! I have always used a squirt of oil to do this! One learns somthing new everyday.
So you say those rubbers are available at any parts store? Everyone I know has always put old tire carcases on with hose clamps!
I am trying to learn this catalog thingy. If I seem niave or backwards try to guide me a bit.
Tomorrow will be easier on you. I go back to work.

C4TZ5783A is correctamundo / Obsolete
SOEBY MOTORS in Wahalla ND has TWO = 701-549-3711.
GRIESEL MOTOR CO. in Okarche OK has FIVE = 405-263-7242.
FREESE MOTORS in Monticello IA has SEVEN = 319-465-3541.
Usually the Ford Dealers are cheaper than obsolete parts vendors, cuz they're STUCK with the parts till someone buys them, as they cannot be returned to Ford.
The obsolete parts vendors make their living off obsolete parts.
Thanks again ND.
