Another NEW GUY!

Hey Peeps,

Let's welcome 06yz125 (Gary) from Crawley! Nope, I'm not making any more location names up...Gary says it's over by Lewisburg somewhere...but I don't remember seeing it anywhere. The GREAT news is that he's a "Souther"!!! Another one for my area!!!

Gary, let's see some truck pics...and maybe you can make the meet in Charleston next month!

Welcome aboard Gary!

If memory serves, Crawley is on Rt 60 off the Sam Black exit of 64. I used to pass through there quite often driving to/from WV Tech.

Hmmm... seems like I used to drive through every town in WV on the way to/from WV Tech. I made that trip so often that I'm pretty sure I've taken every reasonable route between home and Montgomery. The good ol bad ol days and the main reason my old Ranger had almost 300k miles on it.

Anyway... lets see some truck pics!

Hi Folks

I finally found you. I am computer challenged and only have dial-up
so I'll try to get some pics. My son knows the computer stuff so I'll have to talk him into doing it for me.

Thanks for letting me join in. Hope to meet some new people and learn a
little alng the way.

Welcome from Niagara! You might be computer challenged but that's where everyone starts. At least you have your own tech support department. If high-speed internet is available, give it some serious thought.

No high speed here yet. Not even at the paved road which is about a mile away. Guess its never been a priority or we could get the dish thing. We lived without indoor plumbing til 7 years ago so that had to come first.

When I got married (28 years ago) I had no plumbing or electric. My wife married me anyway.

I dated a few times before her but when I brought them to my home... needless to say, they weren't impressed. LOLOLOL HEHEHEHE

Having grown up that way myself, I often wonder what would happen if it was suddenly 1910 again.

Well we did have wires in the house, and they did have electricity most of the time.
Since we were the last house in the state, we were low on the priority list when the power went out.
So that meant many nights with kerosene lamps.

Water and bathroom was outside though.
Shovel the path to the bathroom in the winter.
Break the ice to get water.

Fun days cutting and splitting wood for the kitchen stove.
Shovel coal for the heat stove.

100 years sure has made a difference in how we live.

Yea Dave, you got it... the good old days. LOL

Didn't bother me too much when I was younger. We had a generator
and propane fridge. Felt like we were shi*ing in tall cotton with those
modern appliances.

This reminds me of a story. <smile>

When my now wife came to my folks house (it was our first date) my parents
made me help butcher chickens before I left. She, being a semi-city girl hadn't
done it before. My mom grabbed one and chopped the head off, dipped it in the
pot and gave it to me to pluck. Then she handed my date a hatchet and a chicken
and said now you do one. My future wife ended up doing most of the
beheading til we were done. I thought.....She's a keeper.
