Just got an Econoline Pickup. Not sure of the year 63? I was told it was a rare truck. Any help decoding the Warranty Plate would be gratefully appreciated!
Warranty Number - E10TH699200
W.B. - 090
Color - 3
Model - E100
Body - D87
Trans - A
Axle - 031
E10= Econoline 100 series vehicle
T= 170 c.i. 6 cylinder, 1bbl carb, 85h.p.
H= Lorain assembly plant
699200= June 1965 build date...1965 model year
------------------
wb=90= wheelbase in inches
Color 3= Vermillion(Econoline only, 1965 only)
Model E100...E series model, half ton load rating
Body=D87= 87=87A=standard pickup(no rear corner windows)
D...the book isnt totally specific on this...theres 2 choice for E series... First: Medium Palomino crinkle all vinyl(89D)
Second: (Ex 87A,89D), Lt Beige crush vinyl and medium beige ladder pattern woven plastic...
Trans=A= Std Light Duty Ford 3 speed
Axle= I couldnt find a 031 let alone a 31...only a 30 or a 32...however code 3 is a 3.50 ratio open rear axle, 2.3M load rating..its code is WCR-K...I believe that would be on a tag bolted to the rear end assy near the differential
3600 is the RPM at which the cert NET hp was figured...in this case its 85HP
3800= trucks Max loaded weight with people and cargo included
22= DSO(where original selling dealer ordered it from...in this case its Charlotte.
Thanks for the correction/tweaks Bill... I looked at my 65 brochure and theres no series designation for the E series trucks or van like there is for the F series...same max payload for both too(the E seies vehicles that is)
Thanks Guys! You have been a great help. This is a great Ford Forum!
One more for you all. I was wondering about the production numbers for 65 Ford Econoline Pickup. I saw one website that stated only 7,400 were produced in 1965. Can anyone verify this number?
