Does anyone know the stock weight of a 77 f-250 standard cab 2x4? And what is the best way to elimintate weight? Thanks.

 

Buy an 1980 up truck... They thinned everything out :-(

What's your goal - drag strip, gas mileage, what? About all you can do it 1/2ton suspension/axles and remove the box. If your not using it for hauling, you would be better off starting with a lighter F100/F150. Less weight in the frame and suspension.

Well my 77 short wide comes in about 4600 without me in it. You got a heavy vehicle and it's gonna be hard to make a significant dent in it. Ideas:

Alum radiator
Alum intake
Loose the tail gate, spare and jack
Alum heads
Alum wheels
Loose the old lady

Still don't add up to much, except maybe the old lady?
