It's odd that you only have 3 wires from yor turn signal switch. I've never seen one with less than 5. Mine has 7.
I might be tempted to go on E-bay and buy a new 7 wire switch. Mine was made by "Everlasting" and works great. My light wiring diagram shows how to hook that up. I also have instructions for the 5 wire switches! (only three wires???? I'll bet they cut off the wires for the front lights)
I dont know for sure if hey cut any wires or not but I did go ahead and ordered a new switch like the one you showed me, I just ordered it from LMC (top of page 52) instead of ebay it was actually 5 bucks cheaper from LMC. The only bad part about all this is I have to go to Utah for a couple weeks of good ole Army training so I'll have to wait untill I get back before I can ge it all finished up but by the end of May I will have all of it finished old wires out new wires in and then I can start looking into a new motor for her...
Sorry but Utah doesnt have/do anything for me. As for the marching....lol wow its been along time since Ive done any of that so I'm sure I will mess that all up big time....LOL
Ok I finally got the wiring all done and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Its not the prettiest job but everything works so I'm happy... It wasnt as hard as I thought and the guys at Rebel were real helpfull when I called with questions. Ok heres the pics of her all buttoned up, hope ya like.....
All the leftover wires are there just incase I decide to go with power windows, doors, electric fuel pump and stuff like that. Man I know they say ducktape is a mans best freind but I'm leaning more towards zipties now. lol...
and believe it or not the wires are up out of the way and cant be seen unless you lay down on the floor, and yep theres more zipties. lol...
and theres the wires that go to the gauges which all work amazingly...
a pic of the gauges working and all the good stuff...
I went to Lowes and got some half inch pipe hangers to hold down the wiring on the firewall and inner fenders, I know they may not be OEM but hey for 3 bucks I'm not complaining...
just a pic of the pass side with the pipe hangers...
and finally just a pic of the inside once clean-up was done and me with a big smile on my face thinking "wow I did it"...lol
Anyway as some of the others have said, this really isnt that hard but I would suggest that if you decide to rewire your truck do it 1 section at a time it really is alot easier than cutting out the old then trying to figure out what is what...
ahh so i don't need to look for one of my spares !!!!!!!!! cool . it's looking good !! now if i could just get my lil' fat **** in gear and get bessie running ........ be down your way , not work related to pick up the 52 here in a couple of weeks . i want to drive it back , but everyone else is being " logical " about it . so i geuss i'll let them keep thinking we'll load it on a trailer till the last minute .................. logical . if we were logical why in the world would we play with these things
