Hey Rick, do you happen to have a part# for Ford kit? What does "bb" refer to?
After talking with you last week, and reading this, it makes sense. The O-ring failure would explain why it hydro-locked. I haven't touched the truck since talking with you. If I'm going to get under the hood to pull glowplugs I might as well repair/replace the fuel pressure regulator.
Jeff
Part # is 303Z9T517AZ or FMC# 3C3Z 9T517 AG
They have both on the work order. I think the 2nd one is probably correct. Anyway you have both of them. The spring should be blue.
I'm sure most of you know about it but, FWIW. Hellman Performance makes a sump designed for mounting on the fuel tank. $165.00 plus shipping. I don't think I have had any cavitation since I installed mine on the EX. Some guys over at another unnamed forum have been making their own. Check it out. Some folks have had a little trouble mounting it with a skid plate. I used a hole saw. I think it was a large 5" for the skid plate and 4" for the tank.
At what power level does the fuel pressure drop due to lack of supply from the pump? Has anyone put something like the Kenne Bell boost a pump on it as a fix? I use one in the race car and get 40-50% more capacity out of the pump, FWIW, just wondering if anyone has tried one on these trucks, or if there is even a need to at some point.
