Post-trip pics of my new OBS
I'm sure you're all gonna be real disappointed, but we got almost no pics of the road trip home... we dialed in the GPS and went for it, left Morgan Hill, CA Wednesday afternoon and were back in northern WA Thursday night. I took 2 quick photos in WA when I got a wild hair and decided to detour thru the middle of nowhere after getting chased off my exit ramp in Tri Cities by a big rig, but they are on the other camera and my wife has it right now. I did take a few pics of it yesterday after I got home though, they are in my Webshots Album but I'll post a few of them here:
The trip home was about 1,100 miles and the truck never missed a beat, it runs good and drives good also. I will say this- STOCK SUCKS! I want to get intake, exhaust, and a tuner in ASAP... its real doggy in stock form! It has a few issues to work out, but nothing too serious- long crank time, swap out the gray CPS, figure out the steering, clean up the interior, then start modding! :fordsmilie: First major mod done will be to get rid of the add-a-leaf in the front to get rid of the Cali lean and hopefully get the nose lower than the rear. Go fast mods got a head start thanks to Greg (Deputy Dog)- he gave me his old set of Isspro gauges :rockwoot: I'll probably do a 6637 intake and straight pipe it using parts of my old SD exhaust until I can pick up an exhaust kit (want to do duals again but might just settle for a single).
We did make a few short stops on the way home- first stop was lunch in Morgan Hill with Peter, aka Duck Fan. Had a near heart attack when I walked out after lunch and noticed a small puddle of coolant under the truck, but it never leaked again for the rest of the trip. The leak appears to be where the upper radiator hose enters the water pump- the factory hose clamp isn't doing its job 100% anymore. Next stop was in Red Bluff, CA to meet up with Steve (camojeeper) for a quick drink, then hit the road again and decided to stop for the night in Klamath Falls, OR. It was getting late and raining pretty good, the crappy wipers made it real hard to see with traffic approaching. Woke up around 7:30 Thursday AM and hit the road again, made a quick stop in Redmond, OR to say hi to Joe (joebob3093) then kept truckin'. I dropped my buddy off at the airport to get his truck and made a last stop at the live tuning event before I headed home. Got back home around 9:00.
It was a real fast trip but a fun trip... it was crazy to land in Cali to warm temps and green grass after leaving the house at near freezing temps and grass barely starting to grow

Easy now, I'm protective of my little girls
Joe I'm pretty sure this one has AB's... its a later built 96 CA emissions truck and has the starship enterprise on the fuel pump and sounds like a split shot injectored truck... got my fingers crossed. I guess I could throw my early 99 stock PCM in there and if it runs like crap I'll know
The inside of this thing looks real nice in the pics, but boy was it grungy! My wife started cleaning it up today and got an insane amount of grime off the dash and door panels... it was pretty gross actually. Still needs a good shampoo but it should clean up real nice.
