04 f250 tow/haul switch issues??

I recently purchased a 04 f250 with the 6.0l powerstroke. I drove it for about 3 weeks now, Ive put my trailer behind it with small loads and just today tried to use the tow/haul botton. When you go to pull out the tranny never shifts from first gear?? Its pulls and runs fine until you push the buttan and no shifting.........Any help much appreciated!!

I've never seen this before. How high do the RPMs get without it shifting?

I let out about 2000rpm's and give up and hit the button. That's with no load, just trying it out?

Tow/haul raises the shift points considerably. This is most noticeable under light load conditions when you would normally expect the trans to shift a lot sooner than it will while in tow/haul. Keep feeding it throttle and see what happens. I'll bet you find that around 2500-2800 it shifts, which is normal.

Your old '97 didn't have a tow/haul mode. If had an overdrive disable mode. All that did was not allow it to shift to fourth gear. Tow/haul changes almost everything the transmission does.

Mark I fell alittle dumb. I let a good friend of mine drive it after church today, told him about the issue. He had the drive it like it wasn't your attitude and it run up to around 2500rpm's and shifted quick. I guess I wasn't pushing it hard enough.....THANKS Justin
