Drove a 6.2L Raptor Today`

I was slightly off.....as copied from the motorweek website:
2010 F-150 SVT Raptor
Program #2934
ENGINE: 5.4-liter V-8
HORSEPOWER: 320
TORQUE: 390 lb feet
0-60 mph: 8.6 seconds
1/4 mile: 16.5 seconds @ 87 mph
"At the track, our tester scored a 0 to 60 of 8.6 seconds, and ran the quarter mile in 16.5 seconds at 87 miles-per-hour. Our 5.4 Raptor sprang off the line and pulled strong throughout the rev band. Shifts are quick and the engine sounded good and mean."

agree! (probably closer to 400 lbs- as my 1990 F150 XLT Lariet 4x2 SBW/SB w/handling package weighed in at 3,800- the 4x4 was about 750 lbs more) ...but they also lacked EFI, synthetic oils, computer controlled engine/transmission/differential engagement functions, aluminum housings & suspension components, gas shocks, 4 wheel disc brakes (even 2 wheel disc was an option on some), plastic fuel tanks, plastic interior/exterior trim panels, plastic exterior chrome, plastic/foam bumpers, and radial tires (in most cases, though a few of the 4x4's did have them).

I agree that SVT should have considered a supercharger like the 2nd gen Lightning for the Raptor. Its just too big. Even though it makes a decent amount of power, the weight is the reason it has unimpressive performance numbers.
My old F150 can probably keep up with these numbers. 1/4 mile: 16.5 seconds @ 87 mph

In this case, we are not talking about extreme speed...enough accel, braking and handling to make the vehicle safe to drive on a daily basis for accidnet avoidence. Even the guys at motorweek who are about as impartial as it comes (ie they find it very hard to say anything bad about any vehicle anymore)....even stated the brake system is adequate, not good, not great and handling was good for a 4x4.
Take this truck on the freeway say at 50 mph...see how long it takes to get up to 70 mph...in SoCal, that means the difference between life and death. Or take it from a standng stop...how long does it take to get to 30 mph......just like the 196# corvair....it was a death trap from a standing start...not enough power to avoid a rear end collision. In SoCal, a death trap.

Thank you tcesni. You all are comparing apples and oranges. Take any of the above mentioned vehicles off road at 80 and you will find out what the Raptor is all about. Personally, I wish the lightning concept would have came out. It is much more feasible than the Raptor. The lightning is a daily driver with loads of power. The Raptor is almost purely an off road vehicle. However, I would love to see ford drop that 6.2 into the regular f-150s. As a die hard Ford owner and driver, I am tired of seeing the bigger and more hp motors in the other guys' pickups (6.2 GM and 390 hp Hemi). Just my two cents
