I'll have to give another one a try.

I drove both the 6.7 and 6.2 yesterday and I was impressed. I agree with Mike, the low down throttle response is sluggish but comes alive. Being a diesel person it was almost funny to drive a gasser that was louder than a diesel engine. I'm impressed with both platforms, especially with the 6.2 if Mike can squeeze a few ponies out of the engine.

I test drove one yesterday supercab 4x4 with the 6.2 and 4.30's and I walked away feeling as tho it was down on power. Maybe I needed to hammer it more to get out of the lower end where you say the throttle response needs work. The truck I drove felt sluggish/heavy.
I'll have to give another one a try.

I have also noticed that around town truck will cruise along in 6th gear pulling 1500 rpms makes it feel sluggish as well. Once you try to accelerate; between slow throttle response and 6th gear its numb feeling. On your next test drive lock out 6th and or 5th and see if it feels better... as the rpms come up the better the truck performs. It likes to rev..

My dad's 2010 4.6L F150 does the same thing with 6th gear. I think it's great!
It gets better MPGs than any truck I've ever had. Downshifts are almost instant when you give it pedal, takes no time at all for the engine to go from lugging at 1,600 RPM to 5,000 RPM at WOT.
Takes some getting used to, but everyone, including myself, wants fuel economy and performance. I see nothing wrong with this.

This is not new to the Super Duty gas engines... My 2005 F350 with the 5.4L 3V engine runs at 1,300 RPM's around town and feels like a slug. I always put the Torqshift in Tow/Haul mode to keep the RPM's in the 1,800-2,000 RPM range for better performance. Does it effect MPG's? Yes, but it is worth it to me.

The NUT has been Cracked!
Update!
The nut has been cracked! SCT has finished there flash development on our 6.2L. And we have been working on our base 87 tune. The great thing is; the same computer is also used in the new 5.0 Mustang. So SCT already knows how to flash. . Bottom line on these 6.2L is they like RPMS. Also note while I was at SCT last week we compaired a Raptor processor code to a Superduty. Not a whole lot of difference.. So far the throttle response has been improved by a bunch among a few other things for driveability.
I also just want to note that the gains so far; we are using stock timing tables aka no advancement of timing. Overall i am really liking this 6.2L our 5th wheel hitch go's in next week so i will finally be able to hook up our 10k 5th wheel and go for a drive.
More to come!

6.2L Tows 5ver Great!
Did some real world tow test tuning this morning. Around 80 miles worth of pulling our 10k 5ver. I have to say i had my doubts about this 6.2L in how it would pull heavy but all i have to say now is WOW! It pulls just great! I have pulled our same 5ver with 4 different present and past trucks and this 6.2L holds it own next to all of them. I even avg 9.7 mpg at 55-60 mph during the 80 mile test loop, which is a tad better than what i have seen with our 2v and 3v V10... just a tad. During the 80 mile loop the only thing we will be changing with tuning is some of the tow/haul mode shift strategies as they seem to lug the engine way down, 5th and 6th gears come on too early durning the upshift and dont come on early enough on the downshift. Other than that me likey. My hats off to Ford on a solid built machine.
ps here is a pic of rig, stopped in a large parking lot to reflash pcm and set up some data logging.
