I was wondering if anyone has hooked up the switches provided by Painless for their wiring.
1. The Ignition switch doesn't quite fit into the dash. There appears to be some kind of "shimmy" built for it to fit. Anyone else have this problem?
2. I bought the Painless wiper switch to hook into the wiring, instead of using the Ford wiper switch. I looked on Painless sight, but they don't have a schematic. It shouldn't be difficult, but I was wondering if anyone has wired this switch.
The Ford wiring schematic for the wiper motor has a few more wires coming out of it into the Ford switch than the Painless switch can use. Hmmmmm.....
My experience has not been hands on- I purchased so called"Painless" 18 circ. non-GM universal harness for my truck while it was in shop undergoing full "rodstoration" - but I had to listen to the constant complaints from mechanic/restorer since the harness is GM color coded (I found out non-GM only refers to steering column elect.) And he ended up doing much by seat of pants. I notice now theres a post by site owner about a company doing wiring specific for our trucks-I wish they'd been around when I was buying mine.
