Thanks, but I can take credit for the welding, Bob at Dukes Speedmaster in Houston gets all that credit. I diden't feel safe doing that kind of work myself and left it to the experts.

That looks off the chain...!!! Wow, I only hope I will have the ability to bring my 55 to that level of restoration. Congratulations!

I thought I would post a few update pictures of my truck. Its been a while, and it seems slow going, but it is starting to look like it may actually get done some day now.

Motor is done now. It is a 64 289 (now 306) with a few upgrades

The small block Ford pulled a honest 348 on the dyno

Trial fitted the cab. Looking like a truck again!

Frame is panted with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator and top coated with Extreme Chassis Black Satin Paint. I powder coated the control arms, drag links panhandle bar with chrome powder coat paint that looks more like a polished aluminum.

Time to cut up the two cabs apart and put them back together as one.

Basically we removed the top from a new cab and installed it on to the original truck's floor, which thanks to a lot of undercoating, was basically in really good shape.

After bracing everything up, we sodablasted the cab. Already looking better.

You can see some of the rust in the top cab, as we carefully removed the it's floor

Floor is removed

There were a few spots of rust that needed addressing on the new top cab

Patch panels for Mid50s were added ( Note: they are a great fit, and need very little tweaking)

We had to custom make the center section as there are no patch panels available

All and all things are looking good

Time now to work on the floor...

Patch panels were added to the corners including new cab mounts, upper cap and plates, and lower retainers from Mid Fifty.

We cut out just what we need from the floor pan patch panels

All nicely welded up

Inner Corners going in

Floor is done! Now will this all fit together....... I think so, since this looks to be the way Ford assembled these cabs the first time.

Day of Reckoning. Cab is flown and the floor and chassis is rolled under for a test fit, trim, test fit, trim, etc, etc

All squared up. Bottom was metal etched, Por15-ed and Truck bed lined.

Everything fits well and is nice and true

Where we are today; We have removed all the holes in the firewall and should have the firewall painted this week.
