This is the method I use also. 5'9'' 140lbs. Can be a real pain if you crawl in there then realize you have the wrong tool and have to get back out. I try to gather up lots of tools then lay them on the fender aprons.

That is the best way to be comfy alright! LOL On my step that I use on concrete I got a few countersunk screws and put rubber on the bottom of the legs.. or you could use strips and use screws to fasten it on the sides after running it underneath..

Im 6'2". The places I use are not the most comfortable place in the world. But it worked for me doing the valve cover gaskets. I sit on the corner of the fenders, just above the headlights. My head fits under the hood, and I can stretch one leg toward the cab and rest my knees. Of course, I take out the battery... fried backside doesn't appeal to me
