Exhaust Manifold Leak?

Just finished another oil change. While under the truck, I noticed that there are carbon deposits around where the exhaust manifold mounts to the cylinder head. Not sure, but are there exhaust manifold gaskets used on the 6 litre? If they use gaskets, then I've got a blown one, at least on the passenger side. If not, then how much of this is normal?

The 6.0 does not come with gaskets from the factory. They do sell gaskets to install if you should develop an exhaust leak.

I have the extended Ford warranty and it includes the exhaust manifold, would that cover it?

Thanks Cheezit. It doesn't look like a big single leak, just soot buildup around the individual ports.

Broken manifold bolt

Funny you should mention a broken exhaust manifold bolt (rare but happens). My 98 clubwagon van just developed an exhaust leak. When I pulled the engine cover off, I noticed that one of the bolts was snapped off. Wish it was a F-250 rather than a van. There is just no room to work in there. Any suggestions?
