picking up the new cap/shell/canopy/whatever

My wife called yesterday to check on the ARE Z series cap we ordered. They told us 4 weeks and yesterday was the 4 week mark... The guy asked to to hang on a minute, then got back on and said it had just come in on the truck when she called! Smal world and good timing. They couldn't get her in to install it as they had appointments all afternoon, and my wife works this AM, but as soon as she gets off work, she's going to get it.
She's been instructed to take pics for me, and I will in turn post them here!

My wife picked up the cap yesterday and when she got home, she realized the paint didn't match! Damnit! I'm so PO'd at ARE right now... She is taking it back on Monday and demanding either a full refund or a partial rebate after they fix it. I am inclined to give my business to another brand... You would think for upwards of 2,500 bucks they could get it right!

I'll be looking for a cap for my STX when it come in. Any reason you chose ARE and not Lear? What's the price for a typical cap for the F-150? The last cap I bought was for my Ranger almost 17 years ago. The color and gelcoat was fine for about 14 years, but the gelcoat has since started to peel from the curved surfaces.

It is a really sharp cap. I had an ARE on my 99 superduty and it matched exactly. I have since went with softopper.com and got a soft top cap. This thing has been great, up when I need it down when I don't. It made it through, an Ice storm, blizzards, and a tropical storm without problems. Good luck with ARE, I'm sure you'll get it worked out. It stinks being halfway around the world and not being able to do anything about it. Scott

Well my wife took it back yesterday, and the lady who initially sold it to us (she wasn't there upon pickup) saw that it didn't match too, so she called ARE directly. They are going to fix the color, give us a rebate and install out leveling kit for free! Just sucks we'll be out of a cap for X amount of time... As long as the color matches, I'll be happy.
I looked at Leer and liked them, but I liked some of the parts of the ARE better... seemed higher quality.
