I have a 2002 E450 7.3 Powerstroke automatic with 148,000 with a new tranny at 130,000. I just purchased this one and it has done great till yesterday. While pulling out from a red light the service engine light comes on and the accelerator petal would not function, after around 45 seconds to a minute it will start to function properly. I have tried shifting into every position on the tranny and even in neutral and park the accelerator petal will not function. The new tranny was installed by a dealership and it was a new transmission. Any ideal what could be the problem?

 

Welcome to FTE. What do you mean the pedal doesn't function? Is the engine not revving up?

 

Yes that is correct the motor will not rev up. I was told by the local "self proclaimed professional" auto part store that is was the throttle position sensor but I am unable to find a listing for one. I am being to wonder if this model has one.

 

The pedal assembly and throttle position sensor are one in the same. I'd suggest reading the trouble codes to verify if that's the problem. Maybe the parts store can do that for you.
