How long does factory battery last
#46
My factory battery lasted 6 years. Lots of companies tend to change the warranty periods on their batteries, so be sure to keep the original paperwork. My car has a duralast pro series that was a 7 year warranty at the time, now it is 2. After 3 years the cheap VoltEdge battery I put in the truck failed so I used the warranty on it as trade in for a BXT65-850 Motorcraft. Which has a 100 month pro rate as well as the free replacement time period. If you pay anything on a pro rate exchange the entire warranty period begins again.
I am in this with an "Everstart"....they just keep giving me a new one and the 5 years keeps starting over... Maybe others have had good luck, but man what POS I keep getting.

Do they start again after paying a pro rate fee or on free replacement? If they're starting it over after a free replacement you're making out like a bandit!!

They just keep putting a new sticker on it with the date that they give me a new one.....and that runs 5 years from that sticker...100%. All I give them is my phone number and they put it on their tester deal in back for an hour and call me and say ...yeah it is bad. Three batteries in 4 years, so maybe when it hits the original purchase date they cut me off....don't know. My friend owns a car repair biz and he calls them "Neverstart"...he sees tons of them come in that are bad and only a couple years old. I don't know who makes them....maybe just the 1000/850 has problems. I hate to badmouth a company if it's just a selected few...
