There's a NEW Ford in TOWN!

Well, since I can't find steady work, figured it was time to put my parts together and sell some things off!

A few year ago I picked up a '35 Ford car frame, so...the past few weelks have been gettiing it set up with a juiced brake front end, '55 Chevy rear...and placed a SBC/TH400 in it to figure out what needed to be cut up/etc...so...beefed up my HF 3 foot sheetmetal brake to handle some 1/8th inch...and came across a "Ford Pilot" chassiswith a 21 stud FH V8, tranny, , etc...pretty much a complete chassis sans'wheels...

Now, to get a bit more into this, the Ford Pilot is an English deal...RHD, RH shift on the tranny...heck, I only got it for the flathead...but...started looking at things. .and soon-by mid next week-I'll have RHD '35-40 chassis set up for the '36 Ford PU cab I have out back...not sure what it will sell like, but fgured heck, since it won't be original, whyave not have some fun?

Real cool thing is the steering column I got, also has an elusive '37 Bajo wheel on it, and the RHD column, and the shifting stuff, ....and, a set of two keys on the column drop!

...sooo, although I'd like to get my own '36 up and going, this will be a bit more fun and quicker.

Hey, how many RHD '36 Ford PU's do you see?

Sounds like a good idear. And good to hear you're making some progress on stuff. You should be able to piece together about 3-4 more cars and trucks.

RHD is great, except for toll booths. In my RHD truck I used to drive backwards through the drive thrus at fast food joints. The eye contact from the folks in line behind you gets a bit unnerving though; like pulling up to stoplights behind a Volvo with ugly kids staring at you in the rearward facing seats. Can't wait to see a rhd '36, with a banjo wheel no less, sounds cool!

Geez, you too? I'm doing taxes today as well. It sucks...especially when I can't find all my paperwork. I'm about as organized as you are...maybe less!

Looks like a good price, depending on what tires they are. 10 ply should work though. Is this the deal you were telling me about yesterday?

Well, since Eric hasn't seen fit to introduce himself, I'll do the honors. He's a Land Rover buddy of mine who just stole (excuse me, I mean bought) an '88 F350 crewcab dually to use for hauling his 36' two-car trailer, which I've been hauling with my tired '68 F250. I just spent the better part of yesterday working on it and am quite impressed with it so far. One of the better craigslist buys I've seen in a while. Poor guy selling it thought it was in worse shape than it actually is, looks like it's a pretty darn good truck.

Wonder how long it's gonna take before Joe sees this and chimes in with "diesel swap"?

Yep, an F350 could use a diesel swap. Ford 6.6 or DT360, maybe even Perkins or a plain ol Cummins 6BT. Anything but a 6.9!

Oh, you're mean!

Yeah, but for now the 460 will do just fine.

Thanks for the intro Dan, just finished my taxes at 1 am on D-Day and I'm celebrating with a Mickey's big mouth. I'm going to make a run to Davis tomorrow in the F350, decided on transferring my personal license plate BEEEAST to it after I get the smog certificate.

I went shopping for hitches online, cheapest around for a 2" receiver class 5 hitch is around $275. Do these pop up on here used very often?

Diesel swap would be great. Don't have the diesel motor, any extra cash, or any time whatsoever. So I'm a big 460 fan for now!
