88 F-350 stake body, opinions?

Hey me and my buddy found a good deal on an 88- F350- 7.3- C6 auto stake body NON- dump truck. I'm not sure what gears are in it. It has 108,000 miles on it nothings ever been messed with besides normal maintence. Interior is blue XL interior in nice condition. Tires are all good. i opened the hood and nothing under there is leaking. its dry as a bone and valve covers and manifolds are nice and dry. everything looks untouched. has a fleetguard fuel filter and oil filter on it. i'd change them right away....new interstate batteries. new solenoid.....i asked if glowplugs had ever been replaced- he said NO but they work great in the winter.

I just wanna get some opinions on it.....It comes with a biga$$ dumpin goosneck trailer that works.

We'd be looking at it to expand our lawn service a little more maybe start doing mulch and stuff. I know the 7.3 is reliable but wasnt sure about the C6, i know they're good but wasn't sure about them behind the 7.3 ?

I need to know what to look for and feel when we go back and test drive it? The guy says it goes down the road straight as an arrow and drives great. I'm just worried theres some perk with the engine i'm gonna have to look for because its the first year of the 7.3, blah blah.

it's rusty and crusy but brake/fuel lines look good, we'd fix the cab corners, push out the fender dent and roll on some white so it looks decent and matches the trailer

all for $1500.

Let me know what to look for in the truck. The trailer looks like an old farm trailer...needs a tire. dump bed works.

Thanks

Pics-

the pan LOOKS dented in the picture, but its not at all. I looked at it good

I can't tell if thats the trans pan leaking or the engine oil leaking and blowing back

I'd buy it just for the trailer alone because I really need a dump trailer right now. Is that driver's side front spring excessively bent in an odd spot?

yes. the diesel trans will only bolt to a diesel engine.
i used to pull 17,000 lbs regularly with my 88 diesel C-6
mini excavator on a trailer every day 20 miles to the job, and then home at night for 3 years.
just service the trans every 25-30k miles.

the trucks not a pickup f350 it's an f350 cab and chassis dually.those can haul some serious weight and big beds.

the dump tailor is very cool.
fill the dump trailer and the truck, and she's coming with you with the diesel.
yeah 1500 for the works is a steal.see, the po made his $ with this setup.he could now give it away, and wouldn't be out anything.
nice find!

Yea i can't believe its not the F-superduty with straight axle! that'd be sweet.

My neighbor has an 89 F-superduty dump truck with a 7.3 and 5 speed. Straight axle front. Pretty neat.

F-Superduty trucks cost lot to insure tho, lots more than a 1-ton like this.
