So the inner fender panel was open entirely below the gen.? The panel didn't touch the gen at any place. Just a big whole.

Do you still have this. If so let me know. Thanks, Mark. (317) 531-8502.

I stumbled across a 1972 Ford F250 with an oddball left fender, after about 10 seconds, it hit me. It has the frame mount, and cutout for the generator! Also, it appears to have the washer bottle relocated to the left side of the engine bay, the guy wants $1000 for the truck. Again, no generator! Wow! I should get it for my 1970 crew cab!

Do it! Swap the bracket and inner fender onto your rig, along with anything else you might want, put your old parts onto the other truck and sell it for $1000! Free parts!

Those old Onan generators were good for very basic electric needs. The wave fluctuates a lot. It may burn up most modern electric tools. Do not use with electronics. You'll be way ahead just getting a small inverter type generator. But I have to agree that it was (and still is) a good idea to have one mounted in the engine compartment.
