Unhappy No Rotella 5W-40 at Walmart

Been checking for a couple of months now. Anyone else notice that they don't stock Rotella synthetic any more? It's just going to cost more elsewhere. But I wonder what is going on.

They still have Rotella conventional. And now they have that in 2.5 gal jugs.

Have you tried places like Costco, BJs, and also the bulk oil distributors?

Or a truck service center?

I would think of 5 gallon buckets, as that is barely 2 oil changes.

If you have any AutoZone stores in your area you'll find it for the same price as WalMart.

They are still selling it here in Utah. I know this doesn't help you but they are still carrying it. Have you asked them what the deal is?

I haven't checked Autozone. Pep Boys was a buck or two higher. Not a big deal of course. Just convenience really since I often find myself at Walmart.

Ask? At Walmart? I did notice that there was no longer a shelf tag for it.

Not available at my local Wally World for a few months now. Even when they did stock it it flew off the shelves. I stocked up and have 7 gallons, enough for 2 more oil changes. Guess it will be autozone now.

They stopped carrying the gallon jugs of Rotella Synth here too. They stock the Rotella T6 Synthetic in quart containers but is a little pricey. What they did bring to the shelf for around $3 more a gallon is Mobile 1 5w-40 synthetic!!

I had a hard time finding Rotella t at my local auto store. On my last oil change around a month or so ago I noticed the new Rotella on the shelf. Maybe Shell was trying to get rid of the old stock before they put the new stuff Rotella T6 on the shelf.

The Riverside, Ca. store had plenty of it last week when I was there. Hope this isn't a trend.

We still have it here at wally world. But autozone stocks it too and its only $.50 more per gallon. If I have to run and get some I go to the zone just to avoid wal-mart.

The sad thing is our team is sponsored by Lucas, get the stuff for free but my 6.0 only likes the Shell 5-40 synthetic! It really hurts to pay for it when you've got a half a pallet sitting there for free!

You might be on to something there. It would be best if I avoided WM altogether. I'm always afraid my picture will show up on the internet.

Yeah the extra fifty sense per gallon at autozone is money well spent.

And yes I spend alot of my free time looking at peopleofwalmart.com LOL
