I just found this:

...and interestingly enough, my truck has the exact same build date (8/15/01 according to my Oasis). I guess I need to crawl under there and look tomorrow while I'm changing my oil. It would explain a thing or two. LOL

Well, if you can wait till tomorrow , patiently waiting the word Forged, wouldn't that be nice.. I was looking around under the hood today and seen the pass. side sticker said 2002, not sure if I should but might look tomorrow too. I always thought I had the last of 03, did they even build a 03 or did they stick the rest of the 02's in the 03's?? Kinda confusing, lol.

 

I saw that thread too. I've been wanting to check. As you can see from my post in that thread, my build date and sticker are the same as the OP! Wouldn't that be sweet!

I would not go by engine serial #. Those numbers could be incorrect I know because of experience.

 

Yep- that's why I'll be having a look through the port to see whether I have a bolt or stud with a nut...

 

I always assumed mine were not forged so I am definitely going to check now.

 

Take a look Joe,because my SN says my 01 should have them and I have PMR's .
