A vacuum leak doesn't begin to define it...if it was a single one, I wouldn't worry to much it...but it is all of them...they were pulled off and no I have no clue where they run and attach...I have the Chilton Manual for the engine, but the diagrams to me are vague...they give you an "idea" of what it is supposed to look like, for me, doesn't help that much...any advise?

I have the manuals (downloaded them) my issue is the vacuum lines over the whole engine...it is a 351W out of a '85 Club Wagon XL Van...I have the Chilton Manual mentioned above, but can't make heads or tails of the diagrams...and have been unable to find a diagram online to describe it...I am so stinking close to having my truck back on the road, I can taste it...I just have these last few hurtles to get over, and they are frustrating!

Well my truck had a 351M when I purchased it. It was used as a farm truck for who knows how many years...the engine was worn out, and transmission as well. After doing a lot of research and question asking, I started looking for another engine. Was going to rebuild the M and bump it up to the 400, but was going to cost a good bit of $$$ which I don't have. So I was looking through our local trader magazine here and found a disabled guy that had a newly rebuilt 351W and newly rebuilt C6 transmission with it in his '85 Club Wagon XL van...ended up trading him some stuff and came out with a van I drove home (30+ miles) with zero problems...ran like a top...so I had like $250 invested in the van, pulled the engine and transmission out of my truck put it in the back of the van, pulled the engine out of the van, put it in the truck...now all I need is the lines hooked up...I so want to be driving my truck....I am to the point I am going to hire a mechanic to come to the house and fix it I think....

would you believe I searched the entire thread for a week previous to purchasing the van to see how others had swapped a 351W into their late models...and couldn't find anyone that had done it before! Everyone was telling me it was going to have to have new this, new that...but couldn't give me specifics...ended up trying it, the ole trial and error...had to change the engine mounts out and use mounts for a 302...fit in like she was made for it...the week after there were like 4 new threads where people were doing the same thing...if it weren't for rotten timing where would life take us? I actually just got off the phone with a guy that said he would stop by tomorrow and take a look at it...not sure what it will cost me, but at this point I will probably pay almost anything...
