brake problem... did a brake job on it so i could take it on a trip last month.. and got 20 mins from home and first heard a sound... then felt a vibration.. next thing i noticed was a smell... went to get back on the road and noticed i was having to fight to keep speed... babied it home on the city streets instead of taking the highway back.. got home and could just feel the heat coming off the front rotors... so my calipers arent releasing the brakes...

actually ended up boiling my brake fluid... its black as tar and was crystal clear the day before the trip... brake fluid in there isnt suppose to boil till its at 550*F so i know i got them pretty hot...

i like the kimbers but i MUCH prefer springfield for reliability - they don't have the same kind of warranty as hi-point (folks that made my carbine and the 9mil i ordered before the truck crapped out) but then again they don't need it cause their so well made

i liked the kimbers especially after using my friends... i got the similar model to his.. (pretty much same gun just mine has a couple extra options that his didnt).. but mine keeps jamming...

im hoping to replace the kimber with a springfield 1911...

i hearya i REALLY wanted a 1911 till i got my xd and to be honest its more reliable and more accurate than any 1911 i've ever fired. plus it holds more rounds

to me theyre it just looks too much like a glock... like Springfield armory is just trying to copy them...

thing i like with the 1911's is i could most likely just take the magazines i have for my kimber and use them in the 1911's.

lol i've owned both and imo their nothing alike - of course the Xd's ARE just CZ's imported under the springfield name lol

actually owned the original version from cz back in the day - one of the guns the ex sold
