wish i could come up and help... but doubt my truck would get up there... and my stangs kinda down atm with a serious problem.... an annoying one at that too...
i'll post a video of it starting up so folks can hear it - she let it run dry on oil at some point today as well which is another reason for my lack of optimism

brake problem... did a brake job on it so i could take it on a trip last month.. and got 20 mins from home and first heard a sound... then felt a vibration.. next thing i noticed was a smell... went to get back on the road and noticed i was having to fight to keep speed... babied it home on the city streets instead of taking the highway back.. got home and could just feel the heat coming off the front rotors... so my calipers arent releasing the brakes...
actually ended up boiling my brake fluid... its black as tar and was crystal clear the day before the trip... brake fluid in there isnt suppose to boil till its at 550*F so i know i got them pretty hot...

i like the kimbers but i MUCH prefer springfield for reliability - they don't have the same kind of warranty as hi-point (folks that made my carbine and the 9mil i ordered before the truck crapped out) but then again they don't need it cause their so well made
makes sense did you have anyone help you when you where changing them?
nahh did them myself... use to do it for a living... first time ive had a problem like this... my calipers are just not releasing for some reason...

i liked the kimbers especially after using my friends... i got the similar model to his.. (pretty much same gun just mine has a couple extra options that his didnt).. but mine keeps jamming...
im hoping to replace the kimber with a springfield 1911...
ill probably end up trading with my uncle... that is if i remember to take it up with me again... he usually has some 1911's up there... or find something else in his collections i like lol...

i hearya i REALLY wanted a 1911 till i got my xd and to be honest its more reliable and more accurate than any 1911 i've ever fired. plus it holds more rounds
who needs many rounds when ya got accuracy on your side lol... ive just never been into the XD's... one of my other uncles has it and got to hold it but never really cared for it...
