Once I slid the axle, the black box fit great, but it was full of stuff like 10 packs of leaf springs and stuff and got moved, set down (not by me) and ended up looking like a dually box... hindsight I should have fixed it cause those boxes are very hard to come by around here...
Soooooooo, had an interesting night last night, travel 2 hours to pick up a new to me box. 95ish flareside. 2 weeks ago, buddy sends me a random pic he found on instagram, it's a girl standing in front of my truck.... I track her down, says she ended up selling it to some Bryan guy..... remember 2 weeks ago.
Yesterday, travel to box, BS with the guy for a bit, mentions he had a 97 that he was going to put the flareside on, asks me what I was doing with it. I says it's not the box I'm looking for, I'm really after a 79 shortbox. He gets a weird look in his eye, starts reminiscing and mentions he had a 79 Crewcab years ago that he had to find a new box for......
Says it was green.....
I whip out my phone and get a pic of mine and hand him the phone.
He looks at me and says that's his old truck, I said that's where this new flareside box is going.
Both owned in like 1996
What are the odds of randomly running into 2 previous owners in two weeks? No common friends, nobody knows anybody, nothing.

When I started this, there were no replacement boxsides for the short styleside to be found.... today i find some.
