Diablo Delta for 2003 F350 V10 Auto?
I would assume that to switch on the fly between the 87 and the 91+ octane programs that one would need to first essentially be near empty with one octane, fillup with the new octane and then switch programs? Is there adverse impact to either the engine and/or chip operation if one switches when there is a majority of the incorrect octane in the tank? Thanks.

Switch on the fly requires a 3 stage chip. You can only switch between the tunes we add to the chip, not the stock tune. A Delta chip always includes the stock tune, it essentially turns the chip off.
If you get a 2 stage chip, you have to turn off the ignition to switch between stock (87 octane) and the performance tune (premium). You need a completely full tank of premium to use the premium tune. The stock tune is your current tune so any octane works with it.
If you run the premium performance tune without a full tank of premium you'll get engine ping. You'll hear it ping. Eventually engine damage will occur if you run the premium performance tune lower octane.

Thanks Ken. Regarding the 3 stage chip, I am still confused a little by your statement "You can only switch between the tunes we add to the chip, not the stock tune. A Delta chip always includes the stock tune, it essentially turns the chip off. "
When I read the www.motorhaven.com website, it states "Standard switch that lets you switch between stock and two performance programs. "
On the 2 stage chip, am I correct in understanding that by turning the ignition off, that it always reverts to the standard chip?
Thanks.

Hi Ken. Two more question before I order.
Though the 87 octane program only offers the tranny shifting improvements, I am interested in purchasing the 87 octane program in addition to the premium tune and on the 3 stage chip as there will be times, when I won't require the performance improvement of the premium tune, but could benifit from having better shifting when running on 87 octane fuel. On the parts ordering page, it states that for the 87 octane program, I need to fill out a custom order form, but I don't see anywhere on the custom order form, how to select the 87 octane program.
In addition, can the premium tune run on 91 octane or does it require 93+?
Thanks
