Exclamation Loud noise when engaging clutch PLEASE HELP also tink noise from engine at idle

Hello everybody! I am new to this forum I am usually on powerstroke.org I did not know so much more people use this website well I am going to start off my first post with a problem I have been having with my truck for a bit haha so to start I have a 2004 6.0 psd fx4 pkg. 6 speed 115k miles runs like a charm, my first problem is that something happens when I engage my clutch, the clutch is beautiful and I do not think my synchronizers are bad because I would have trouble shifting gears correct? well anyway when the truck is coming to a stop example- coming to a stop light and pressing in the clutch while the truck is still moving there is a loud CLUNK that sounds like it is coming from the front end I can sort of feel it aswell but when the truck is not moving and I take off its fine no problem whatso ever, now my second problem is I go out this morning 7am about 40 degrees has been pooring rain nonstop for last 2 days, so I go out start my truck let it warm for a while I come back and I hear this sort of "Tink" noise coming from the engine it literally sounds like taking an empty soda can and tapping it with silverware every 20 seconds or so it makes just a single Tink noise so I pop the hood in rain to make a brief check the large pipe that is left of the coolant res has soot on it I didnt get to look to deeply because i have no garage and it was nasty outside please help me out here I really would like to find out what that noise is when using the clutch

I would guess you are downshifing when you hear the "clunk" if thats the case check the driveshaft splines and ujoints, and maybe even ring gear backlash.

the soot is most likly a cracked y-pipe or the up pipe is not installed correctly.

okj as stated check u-jints and splines on driveshaft. if nothing found then check ringgear backlash.

+1 on u-joints...drop driveshaft check that the u-joints move freely. 115K is about right to drop one.

I forgot about this thread I made okay so I checked U-joints they are fine how would I drop the drive shaft to check the splines? is this a common problem? I have to remove the rubber covers with those clips on them correct? looks like I'm going to have to go get the special socket to drop the shaft if it is ring gear backlash how is that fixed? am I looking at a new rear differential?

update I have also figured out it is not in the front end but near the transfer case and when the truck is in reverse it will shake the whole truck when I push the clutch to put it back into first someone please help me with this I'm ready to do whatever needed to get rid of this I'm sure it cannot be good for the truck it also still does it when shifting up or down
